Email working again

You may email me at my Kansas address once more. It looks like problems are cleared up for now.

We're getting a little sad as the time for Terri and kiddos to return to California draws near. I can't tell you how many movies we have watched. Terri has turned into a real movie guru and she has made it possible for me to do some catching up.

Reviews:

Without A Paddle -- bombs away!
Manchurian Candidate -- Loved it!
Collateral -- Good movie with best actor going to Jamie Fox.
How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days -- cutsey okay
Twisted -- Great cast, good entertainment
The Italian Job -- Absolute best so far!

Yet to watch
THE PUNISHER
SECRET WINDOW

THE SUN WILL COME UP TOMORROW

Tomorrow should be the last day of pain for my arm repairs. There is one other individual in the family who can relate to what I am going through. Kit knows. Sorry Kit, I never gave you enough sympathy. If I am ever a candidate to go through such procedures again, I will first chew off my own arm. That would be less painful. Right Kit? RIGHT!

There will be the treatment tomorrow and then a re-check on Monday, so Tandy, Ryan, Dillon and Beth are going to Kansas for the weekend. I think Ron has plans for putting Tandy to work and I know that I have plans for Ryan, Dillon and Beth making up for my useless arm.

LOST ARE FOUND

Chelle has reported in. They are on their way home. She tried to act like she was shocked that I was worried, but she knows better. I've been her worry-wart, over-reactive, over protective mother for 33 years!!!!

Lots of reasons to feel good today. Not only are the lost found, my arm pain has been taken care of after minor surgical procedure in Tulsa yesterday. I'm thankful Terri sent picture of spider bite because it got me in gear to see doctor sooner. My need to see my mother has been taken care of. We had a lovely lunch with mother before my doctor's appointment. I am happy to have note of concern from Jessi regarding my surgery. Jessi is so good to stay in touch :-)

I am not sure how to categorize time spent with Tandy and family yesterday. Yes, it was great to see them. Yes, they are happy as clams. Yes, they are enjoying swimming and going to movies. And, yes, it does seem that they were CELEBRATING Tandy's 90th day yesterday of being unemployed. I guess it is okay to be unemployed if it makes you so happy. Hum?

I will be in Tulsa next week from Monday until Thursday. I have to go back and have packing treatment done on my arm. Ron will stay here and take care of the chickens. I shall gear myself to whip some grandchildren at Wahoo. Maybe we'll go over and challenge the champion Elizabeth.

Mother's Email

If you tried to send mother an email last week, she did not get it. Something was wrong with the server and Becky lost all the emails and her entire mailbox of addresses. Anyway, it's back up and running as of yesterday, so you can email mother with little, if any, difficulty. I told Becky I would notify everyone. I hope everyone reads my blog :-)

CHICKENS ARE THE BEST

It is hard to tear myself away from the chickens. The Araucanas are a spellbinding group. I’m not sure if they are just that cute or if I’m simply getting more comfortable with chickens.

Chicken Little tried to give me a kiss last night. I was gathering eggs and she hopped up on the nest box and reached up to peck at me. Ron said she was probably trying to peck out my eyes. I think not!

There is a good chance that Bonus is going to turn out to be a rooster. If that happens, we’ll have three roosters with one in each group.

The baby chicks spend a lot of time in the nest box. They spread hay over the newly laid eggs. I didn’t realize what was happening at first and when I checked the eggs, it looked like there was only one egg. When I reached for it, I bumped another egg with my hand and then I spread the hay and found a bonanza of eggs that the chicks had hidden. I’m thinking they might be such spoiled brats that they are making sure I won’t be getting any more batches of chicks to take their place. It is funny to me that the big hens let the babies do this. They kept the teenagers away from the nest totally when they arrived on the scene.

Perhaps my chickens have some sibling placement problems, with the Sex-links being the oldest, the Twylas and Junes being the middle children, and the Noble Davies, et al being the spoiled rotten babies.

By the way, I have a spider bite in my arm pit and that has caused my lymph nodes to swell to fight the infection which causes horrible pain. I’m just hoping it wasn’t a Brown Recluse Spider because Terri sent me a photo of the stages that takes and it is not a pretty site. I can’t reach in for chicken feed without confronting a spider of some kind or another. Here I am, Chicken Annie, rough and tough chicken herder, fighting off snakes and spiders. Who’d a thought it?

Where, oh where, oh where?

Independence Day was quiet around here. We did talk to mother yesterday morning and she sounded wonderful. I received comments on my blog from Elenore and Jessi, so I know they live and breathe. But, where, oh where, oh where is everybody else and what did everyone do for the Fourth Of July? When will the Missouri crew be returning from Indianna?

I was actually in mourning most of the weekend. It is easy to get caught up in the sadness of missing and murdered children. We absolutely must revamp our laws and stop allowing these offenders out on probation and parole.

Hollywood in moaning the losses at the box office. They are trying to figure out why people aren't going to movies anymore. The last reason on their list, which they doubt has anything to do with it, is "lack of positive role models for our children". Duh! Why don't they make a movie about hero's rushing to the aid of missing children, saving their lives and frying the perpetrators instead of slapping their wrists and letting them go? Now that would be a happy ending!

Hollywood should also make a movie out of Harlan Coben's Myron Bolitar books. Wouldn't you just love to see Myron and especially his pal Win in action defending the weak and downtrodden?

Also, I'm getting more and more in the ground swell to vote for John McCain in 2008. John McCain -- John Wayne -- hey, it rhymes! We need heros!!!!

Dreams, wishes, hopes, prayers, all answered in one angel-faced, precious bundle of boy! Ben is now a handsome, charming talented and intelligent young man and all I can say is, "What a man, what a man, what a mighty fine young man!" Happy Birthday to you Ben. (Sorry, I know money was better but hope this will do for now :-)
